Closing bands are the bands that you begin the process of closing your gaps with. Closing Bands are included in all ORA-BAND packages.
The Closing Bands are the bands that you will be using first. They possess the necessary strength to bring your teeth together. Once your gaps are closed you should immediately transition from using your Closing Bands to using your Retaining Bands.
The young lady in the picture entitled "ORA-BAND CLOSE UP" is wearing her Closing Bands in the photo. As you can see, they blend in with her teeth very well. She was able to wear her bands discreetly throughout the entire process.
Retaining Bands hold your teeth in place after the Closing Bands have closed all of your gaps. Transition into using your Retaining Bands immediately after your teeth have been brought together.
The Retaining Bands are an essential part of the process. Your teeth will have a strong tendency toward relapsing into their old positions once they are brought together. You need to wear your Retaining Bands to maintain the new position of your teeth.
Be certain to wear your Retaining Bands while you are making plans to be fitted for your own custom made permanent retainer. Once your custom made retainer arrives you can discontinue the use of your Retaining Bands. Your orthodontic retainer will take on the full responsibility of holding your teeth in place.
ORA-BANDs close gaps in the entire front row of teeth. They bring your 2 front teeth together and - if you have other gaps along the front row of teeth - they bring together the surrounding teeth.
ORA-BAND comes with multiple packages because we know that gaps can occur anywhere along your front row of teeth.
You can have a gap in your 2 front teeth, a gap between your Lateral Incisors and your Central Incisors or gaps in your entire front row of teeth.
ORA-BAND packages are specifically configured to deal with different types of gaps.
One of the most frequent questions that we are asked is “Won’t this cause other gaps to form on the outsides of my 2 front teeth once they are brought in?”. The Combo Pack will prevent that from happening. The Combo Pack comes with several different sizes of bands to place along all of the front teeth. If there are any other spaces that need to be closed you will have the necessary bands to eliminate them.
If you have a medium or large sized gap between your 2 front teeth then you are correct to worry about creating other gaps on the outside of your 2 front teeth once they come together. To completely avoid this scenario we have a Combo Pack.
The Combo Pack comes with Narrow Bands for your 2 front teeth and Wide Bands for your surrounding teeth.
The Combo Pack is ideal for closing medium gaps, large gaps and multiple gaps in the front row of teeth.
No. Orthodontists have been using elastics to move teeth for well over one hundred years. Many of our customers have employed the services of an orthodontist and worn braces before.
Most people that have worn braces before can attest to the fact that they were given orthodontic elastics to apply at home inbetween visits to their orthodontist. It has been interesting for us to note how many of our prospective customers are completely unaware of this. Unfortunately, the cost of orthodontic treatment is high - the average price is $5,000.00 per individual.
Fortunately, in cases where gaps in the front row of teeth are involved, ORA-BANDs have been reliably effective in bringing these teeth together. Much to the relief of those that have found the investment of money and time in braces to be prohibitive, ORA-BANDs cost far less than braces and take much less time to work.
For the most part, there is no issue with you wearing your ORA-BANDs while you eat. However, it would be best for you to remove them when you are eating hard foods (such as apples). Certain foods will fray the bands and others may discolor them. The bands are made from clear elastic medical grade resin.
The bands were very purposely designed to be clear so that our users can wear them anywhere without anyone noticing them. If the bands are exposed to foods that may color them then the advantage of having transparent bands will be compromised.
The bands are entirely safe for intraoral (inside of your mouth) use. Our manufacturer is FDA approved. The bands are not made from latex or any other type of rubber and are entirely non-allergenic. Eating hard foods while wearing the bands is in no way a safety issue. The only concerns are fraying and potential discoloration of the bands.
This is fairly straightforward. For hygiene purposes, it is best to remove the bands before brushing your teeth and replacing them with a fresh band once your oral hygiene regimen is completed.
You should wear the bands at all times except, as mentioned previously, when you are eating certain foods (these food categories are outlined in question #5) or brushing your teeth. That includes the time when you are sleeping.
We all spend approximately 33% of our lives sleeping. This is time when you can continue to be productive by keeping the bands applied to your teeth. The bands will be working to close the gaps in your teeth while you are catching up on your latest dreams.
We advise new customers to make their package choice from the list of packages that we have provided (these choices are 1) Narrow Bands, 2) Wide Bands or 3) the Combo Pack).
That being said, We fulfill custom orders every day.
The usual customer that makes custom requests is a repeat customer who has experience with the product. The majority of repeat customers are purchasing bands for friends or family members. Other repeat customers have not yet purchased a permanent retainer and would like to continue using Retaining Bands until they are ready to purchase a custom retainer of their own.
Of course, anybody can make a custom order. Be certain that you place your order in the amount of 500 bands or 1,000 bands.
If you are making a custom order you will go through the usual ordering process by providing your address and package information. After you enter your address information but before you are prompted to enter your payment method there is a box that asks if you have any special instructions that you would like to add to your order:
This box is circled in the accompanying screenshot. In this section simply input the individual packages that you want. Again, the packages that you select should be in the amount of 500 bands or 1,000 bands. You will receive exactly what you requested in the customization box.
